Kia ora, welcome to Volunteering Northland
The Limestone Island has historical importance as the site of the Matakohe pa and is home to the impressive ruins of one of Whangarei’s earliest industrial sites. Our goal is to maintain the mana of the island and its environment, to develop walking tracks and to revegetate the island with native trees and plants.
