Coopers Beach Hospice Shop - Far North Retail Volunteer
As a Volunteer Retail Assistant at our Coopers Beach Op Shop, you will be part of a fun and welcoming team that helps keep the shop running smoothly and successfully. Far North Community Hospice provides in-home palliative care for patients and whānau living with life limiting illness in our community. Your contribution directly supports hospice services in the Far North community and goes far beyond the shop door.
Key duties may include:
-Providing friendly and helpful customer service
-Assisting customers on the shop floor
-Merchandising and organising stock
-Sorting and preparing donated goods for sale
-Pricing items
-Operating the till
-Cleaning and undertaking minor repairs when required
No two days are the same, and full training and ongoing support are provided. At the shop you will find a positive, inclusive, and supportive team environment.
Full training with the Shop Manager, covering all aspects of the role is provided. You will receive Health & Safety training, with volunteer safety as a top priority with ongoing guidance, encouragement, and regular check‑ins.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will:
-Enjoy working with people and being part of a team
-Have a friendly, positive attitude
-Be reliable and willing to learn
-Be comfortable following Health & Safety guidelines
-Be able to participate in a short interview and police check (required for all staff and volunteers)
A Police background check is required for this role.
Time commitment
There is no specific requirement for commitment. Whether it is 1 hour a week or 20 hours a week, we welcome any time you can give.
