Quarry Gardens Volunteer Rangers
The Whangarei Quarry Gardens are looking for volunteers to join a small team tackling invasive weeds in the Gardens and surrounding areas. Like many places in Northland, the Quarry Gardens suffers from isolated patches of invasive weeds such as Moth Plant, Tobacco Weed, Gorse and Taiwanese Cherry.
We would love to put together a small team of Quarry Gardens Volunteer Rangers that can work semi independently removing these pests. Some limited track work would also be included to help maintain our surrounding bush walks.
We will kit you out with whatever specific tools required as well as providing support where required. Volunteers work in the Gardens on Monday and Wednesday, 8am to 2pm, however there may be some flexibility for this role.
The role would require a good level of fitness and the ability to work safely and independently. We have a fantastic group of volunteers who have a great time working together in a stunning location. Occasional BBQs and Christmas dos included.
Come join the team and do some rewarding work helping to improve our local environment.
