Sports and Fitness Coaches Needed
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate volunteers to lead sports programs for the men in our care at Northland Region Correction Facility. As a volunteer coach, you'll have the opportunity to teach the men valuable teamwork, leadership, and physical skills while fostering a positive environment that encourages personal growth and rehabilitation.
What You'll Do:
-Lead and facilitate sports programs, including team and individual sports (e.g., basketball, soccer, fitness training, etc.).
-Teach the fundamentals of each sport while promoting healthy competition, teamwork, and discipline.
-Support the men in building confidence, improving physical health, and developing life skills through sports.
-Help provide a constructive outlet for our men that promotes mental and physical wellbeing.
Requirements
What We Need from You:
-No formal coaching experience required! A passion for sports and helping others is all we ask.
-Commitment to attending scheduled coaching sessions and engaging with the participants.
-Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on others’ lives.
To be considered for this role, you will have a positive attitude, and be flexible, as our environment is ever-changing. You will also be required to meet with the Volunteer Coordinator and complete a Police Check and a site induction.
A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.
