E-Receptionist

Utilize our internet (VOIP) phone system to answer calls from anywhere using a mobile phone or computer with the correct settings.

Assist our busy staff by handling incoming calls, making callers feel at ease, engaging in friendly conversations, and gathering their details.

Efficiently input caller information and messages into our messaging system, Slack, or via email for further processing by the office team.

Be a crucial link in ensuring that our callers, who may be nervous about reaching out, have a genuine and friendly first interaction with our organization, Rural Youth an Adult Literacy Trust.

This role is flexible in the fact that you may receive between 1-5 calls per day so can do this volunteer role around your normal day to day activities.

Requirements

Proficient in using internet (VOIP) phone systems.

Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor.

Ability to make callers feel comfortable and engage in pleasant conversations.

Detail-oriented with the capacity to accurately record and relay information like contact numbers and emails

Familiarity with messaging systems, particularly Slack, is a plus.

Time commitment

Up to 20 hours per week, if available.

We need people for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday shifts, either all day or 9am-1pm or 1pm-5pm.
