EcoCentre Staffing Support
Come and join our friendly team of volunteers & contractors who staff the EcoCentre from Tuesday to Friday.
Members of the public visit the EcoCentre with queries about our programme of sustainability workshops, specialist recycling, Tai Tokerau Timebank, Plastic Free Te Hiku & Community Composting and to purchase ecofriendly items e.g. baking soda for cleaning, home made soaps, beeswax wraps, zero waste cosmetics, seedling plants, donated produce and upcycled clothes.
Tasks include serving customers, using an EFTPOS machine for sales, entering sales in the cash book, cleaning, displaying items in the EcoCentre & pricing stock. Full training will be given by others already in a paid or volunteer staffing role at the EcoCentre.
Requirements
Enjoy customer service and interacting with members of the pubic.
Some knowledge about living sustainably, gardening, recycling etc is preferable.
Some of our volunteers make crafts or repair clothes to sell in the EcoCentre during their shifts however this is not a requirement of the role.
Time commitment
Tuesday to Friday, Morning shifts are 10am - 12.30pm and afternoon shifts are 12.30pm to 3pm.
