Scout Leader / Scout Group Support Volunteer

Across New Aotearoa, Scouts has long played a role in helping young people build confidence, resilience, and lifelong skills — and local groups are now calling for more adults in the community to step forward and help continue that tradition.

Scouting empowers and encourages our young people with physical, mental, emotional and social development so they can make a positive impact in our communities. Leaders also get to experience the adventure for themselves, as well as learn and challenge themselves though our training programme. From learning how to tramp safely, to abseiling for the first time, part of volunteering is participating with young people in the awesome experiences we run.

Nationwide, we are an awesome community of 20,000 people who share a common set of values. Our volunteers join for the young people, and end up staying because of the wider scout community.

Scouts is now inviting more community members to get involved — whether as leaders, helpers, or supporters — to ensure local youth continue to have access to these life-changing experiences. Our groups meet weekly in a location near you. No experience within Scouting is necessary – just enthusiasm and a sense of adventure!
