Adventure Plus Youth Leader

Land, Sea or Air ... what adventures are you up for? SCOUTS is all about fun, challenges and adventures. Impart your wisdom to our youth members by becoming a Scout Leader today and experience the adventures for yourself.

We have opportunities for Leaders in all sections of Scouting including Sea Scouts and Air Scouts – 6 years to 26 years - Keas, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers and Rovers. Our groups meet weekly in a location near you. No experience within Scouting is necessary – just enthusiasm and a sense of adventure!

Scouting empowers and encourages our young people with physical, mental, emotional and social development so they can make a positive impact in our communities. Leaders also get to experience the adventure for themselves, as well as learn and challenge themselves though our valuable training programme.

Training is provided by in house trainers and includes an introduction to Scouting as well as section specific ones (specific skills, games and activities).

Requirements

Do you have great interpersonal and communication skills? Are you able to work in a team and enjoy working with children? Previous experience in the outdoors/camping is an advantage but not essential as training will be given, however must be willing to learn new skills and participate in a range of activities.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

Weekly meetings during the school term (1-2 hours depending on the section) plus planning or preparation time; some weekends depending on other events, activities and trainings. Some flexibility may be available depending on the number of other leaders within the section.
