Chairperson

We are currently seeking an experienced, passionate and skilled individual to Chair the committee of Te Kamo Inc.
If you have governance experience and the time to help lead an experienced committee we’d love to hear from you. Your leadership and expertise could make a real difference in shaping the direction of Te Kamo Community.

About the Role
As Chair and working with the committee and community coordinator, you will play a leadership role in shaping the future of Te Kamo community in consultation with the community. Your responsibilities will include:
 Meeting Management: Setting agendas with the secretary and community coordinator; ensuring timely distribution of papers; conducting meetings; and reviewing minutes to ensure accuracy.
 Leadership and Strategy: Providing direction, setting high governance standards, and ensuring appropriate policies and guidelines are in place.
 Relationship Management: Working with the community coordinator and other committee members to ensure Te KCi has excellent working relationships with external parties.
 Governance and Compliance: Ensuring Te KCi complies with legal and regulatory requirements and ensuring excellent oversight of financial performance with the treasurer.
 Committee Development: Managing performance of the committee and contractors, and leading succession planning.
 Facilitating Decision-Making: Ensuring all points of view are considered and helping the committee reach decisions.

Time commitment

  • Monthly meetings for 1 - 2 hours.
  • Participation in working groups, committees, or special projects where needed.
  • Liaising with external parties, local government, and community as needed.
    Approximately 4-6 hours per month.
