Volunteer with us - Officers and Adult Staff Wanted

57 Squadron Dargaville Air Training Corps is seeking motivated and community‑minded adults to join our team as Officers and Adult Staff. If you enjoy working with young people and want to make a positive difference in your local community, this is a rewarding opportunity to get involved.

About the Role
Officers and Adult Staff support the delivery of the Air Training Corps program, helping young people aged 13–18 develop leadership, confidence, teamwork, and life skills in a safe and structured environment.

Roles may include:
Instructing or assisting with training activities,
Mentoring and supervising cadets,
Supporting parade nights, camps, and weekend activities,
Assisting with administration and logistics,
Helping maintain a positive, inclusive, and disciplined environment.

You do not need prior military experience. Full training, uniforms (for uniformed roles), and ongoing support are provided.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For
We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds. Ideal candidates will:
Be 20 years or older,
Enjoy working with young people,
Be reliable, enthusiastic, and community‑focused,
Be willing to undertake NZCF training and vetting requirements,
Be able to commit time to weekly parade nights and occasional activities.
Aviation experience, teaching, leadership, fitness, or organisational skills are useful but not essential.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

Volunteers typically commit to weekly parade nights, equating to around 2–5 hours per week, with occasional weekend activities or camps during the year. Time commitment is flexible and discussed to suit individual availability.
