Community Lead

Do you care about your local environment? Want to make a real difference in your community? Fed up with weeds and pests taking over the places you love?
As a Tiakina Kerikeri Community Lead, you can develop your own local pest‑control or weeding project — supported every step of the way.

You don’t need any special skills — just passion, reliability, and a willingness to bring people together. We’ll support you with training, tools, resources, district council approvals (if you'd like to work in a local reserve) and provide ongoing guidance and support.

🌱 As a community lead, you will:

Bring together neighbours and volunteers
Organise small, manageable trapping or weeding activities
Help restore native habitat so birds and biodiversity can flourish
Build local pride and community connection
Be part of a growing network of conservation champions across Kerikeri

Check out our website https://tiakinatetaitokerau.nz/ and contact us today to start your pest control journey!
