Blind Low Vision NZ Group Lead - Kerikeri

We’re looking for a motivated blind or low vision member to take on the lead role for our Kerikeri Support Group. This is a great opportunity to help guide the direction of the group and create a positive, supportive community. In this role, you’ll help shape each gathering, encourage guest speakers, and ensure the group remains a welcoming place where everyone feels included and connected. You don’t need prior experience, just a friendly approach, good communication skills and a genuine interest in bringing people together. Training and ongoing support will be provided. If you’re community-minded, enthusiastic and keen to support, we’d love to hear from you.

Requirements

Ideally, you are a blind or low vision member who understands the group’s needs and experiences. Confident engaging with people, creating a warm and welcoming environment, reliable and organised with an interest in helping guide the group and support guest speakers.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

Once a month. Every second Thursday from 1 - 2.30PM.
