Retail Assistant Volunteer

Our Op Shop teams have created friendly, supportive community hubs, offering much-needed local services and even help New Zealand to be more environmentally sustainable - more recycling means less landfill!

Maybe you already have retail or customer service experience or perhaps you're looking for an opportunity to learn these skills - either way, we'd love to hear from you.

What's involved?

There's plenty of variety in this role, you could be doing anything from:

• serving customers
• cash handling
• sorting donated goods
• visual merchandising
• tidying the store

Requirements

Ko wai koe - About you:

We're looking for caring individuals keen to give back to their community. Retail experience is great but not essential. If you're keen to learn, enthusiastic and reliable, then we can teach you the skills you need. We ask that you are over the age or 18 and are eligible to work in New Zealand.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

Ideally we would like you to commit to one shift of 4 hours a week and we would hope you would want to stay with us for at least 6 months. But you could discuss this with the Store Manager at the interview and see how we can work together.
