Committee Members Northland Athletics Clubs
PRESIDENT
The President is the principal leader of the club and holds overall responsibility for guiding the committee and representing the club’s interests at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and facilitate committee and AGM meetings.
• Set and oversee the annual agenda in line with club goals.
• Uphold the club constitution and oversee compliance.
• Provide oversight on safeguarding responsibilities.
• Act as a point of contact for members and stakeholders.
SECRETARY
The Secretary is the administrative coordinator of the club, maintaining communication between members, the committee, and external organisations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Organise and communicate details of all meetings including preparing agendas and taking minutes.
• Manage and file correspondence.
• Maintain member registers
• Social Media & Newsletter communications
TREASURER
The Treasurer is responsible for managing the financial health of the club through careful budgeting, record-keeping, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and monitor annual budgets.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Present financial reports to the committee and at AGMs.
• Ensure all income is banked and payments are documented.
• Issue invoices and pay bills on time.

• Able to maintain confidentiality.
• Familiar with electronic file management and admin tools.
Treasurer:
Skills & Attributes:
• Financial literacy and attention to detail.
• Organised and methodical.
• Understanding of audit/review requirements.
A Police background check is required for this role.
Time commitment
President:
Approx. 2 hours per week (depending on club size).
Secretary:
Approx. 1–2 hours per week (depending on club size).
Treasurer:
Approx. 0.5-1 hours per week (depending on club size).
