Christmas Bag Sewing Volunteer

Support this fun opportunity to spread some holiday cheer in the Whangārei town centre, as well as our sustainable Christmas present wrapping efforts by helping to sew Christmas gift bags for our wrapping station in December.

The Christmas Wrapping & Community Pop-Up offers gift wrapping services for anyone buying presents in the CBD in the month of December. We offer music, theatre and dance performances every day at noon, as well as a Christmas Carol Competition.

When: 12 – 14 December (Thu/Fri/Sat) and 19 - 21 December (Thu/Fri/Sat), 11am – 3pm
Whangārei CBD, Cameron Mall (Corner Cameron/John Street)

We are looking for enthusiastic seamsters and seamstresses to support the wrapping station by sewing gift bags of different sizes beforehand in your own time.
You are welcome to bring your sewing machine into our office and sew here, or you sew at home.

Materials and pattern provided.

Requirements

  • basic sewing skills
  • sewing machine

Time commitment

Flexible. Sew one bag or 100, we are thankful for any contributed bags!
We will provide you with materials and a basic pattern.
