Geo Spatial Expert with Research and Policy Analyst Background - Virtual Position

The Trust is involved with flora and fauna in NZ, therefore the Trust engages and collaborates with government and non-government, profitable and non-profit, Maori and Non-Maori organizations.

Requirements

There are several projects. Therefore, the Trust is seeking highly experienced Geo Data Analysts to join our Trust, who have extensive experience in spatial data analysis, GIS technologies, and data modelling.
Your expertise will be essential in understanding and utilizing geospatial data for various applications, including environmental monitoring, urban planning, logistics, and more.
This is a voluntary position; therefore, the hours are flexible.

  • Resided in New Zealand for over 4 years.
  • Fluently speaks and understands English.
  • Te Reo Maori would be advantageous.
  • Deep understanding of the cultural history of NZ.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and innovatively.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to a diverse audience.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with machine learning and AI techniques in geospatial analysis.
  • Knowledge of remote sensing technologies and image processing.
  • Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, Post GIS).
