Experienced Senior Website Developer, Designing, Coding (both front and back end) - Virtual Position

The Trust is involved with flora and fauna in NZ, therefore the Trust engages and collaborates with government and non-government, profitable and non-profit, Maori and Non-Maori organizations.

Requirements

Tiaki Taonga Trust seeks experienced Senior Website Developers skilled in designing, coding, and managing both front-end and back-end development.

Key Responsibilities:
Initial Website Audit

  • Conduct a thorough audit of the current website (if applicable), including design, content, functionality, security, and SEO.

Project Planning & Roadmap

  • Define project goals, requirements, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Create detailed timelines, milestones, and resource allocations.

Design & Development

  • Lead the design process, ensuring UI/UX consistency.
  • Develop both front-end and back-end components.
  • Ensure mobile responsiveness, scalability, and performance optimization.

Content Management Integration

  • Collaborate with content creators for seamless content updates.
  • Optimize website for search engines and implement analytics tools.

Testing & Deployment

  • Conduct extensive testing (cross-browser, functionality, security).
  • Deploy the website to production, ensuring minimal downtime.

Ongoing Maintenance & Support

  • Provide regular updates and technical support.
  • Monitor security, performance, and user experience post-launch.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in web development.
  • Experience in API integrations, security protocols, and cloud computing (AWS, Google Cloud).

Technical Skills:

  • Proven track record of designing, developing, and launching complex websites.
  • Strong knowledge of front-end languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Expertise in back-end frameworks (e.g., Laravel, Django, Ruby on Rails).
  • Familiarity with databases (MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL).
  • Proficiency with CMS platforms like WordPress, Drupal, or Joomla.
  • Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and best practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and manage projects end-to-end.
  • Knowledge of SEO and web analytics tools.
