Experienced Senior Events Coordinator - Virtual Position

The Trust is involved with flora and fauna in NZ, therefore the Trust engages and collaborates with government and non-government, profitable and non-profit, Maori and Non-Maori organizations.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in coordinating large-scale events and a keen eye for detail. You will work closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure all events run smoothly and meet high standards of quality and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Māori Studies, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in event coordination or management, with a demonstrated understanding of Māori culture and Te Reo Māori.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Certification in event planning or related fields.
  • Fluency in Te Reo Māori or a commitment to learning and integrating the language into events.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and handle unexpected challenges professionally while respecting cultural values.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A deep understanding of the cultural history of NZ.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours
