Unit Officers and Support Staff
No. 57 Squadron (Dargaville) Air Training Corps is a part of the New Zealand Cadet Forces. The New Zealand Cadet Forces is a voluntary, uniformed organization, that offers military-style leadership, personal development, and adventure training to youth aged 13-19 through its three branches: Sea Cadets, Army Cadets, and Air Cadets. The nationally coordinated program provides unique challenges and complements various courses for additional experience and qualifications.No. 57 Squadron (Dargaville) Air Training Corps has several opportunities for volunteers to become Officers or support staff within the New Zealand Cadet Forces. In your role as a Unit Officer, you will contribute to the planning and delivery of the annual training program and weekend activities to the youth of the Kaipara. You will also contribute to the administration processes and community relationship building, that keep our Unit operating effectively.
Requirements
- Have a reasonable fitness level or a willingness to improve your fitness level.
- Be able to read and write to NCEA Level 1 standard (or equivalent).
- Have a full Class 1 driver’s licence.
- Have at least 5 hours per week of spare time.
- Be of good character.
- Have empathy for young people.
A Police background check is required for this role.
Time commitment
5 hours a week although this may vary for those that wish to get more involved within the organization.
