Getting Out There EXPO Helpers, Friday 8th August
The Getting Out There Expo, 2025, is on FRIDAY 8th AUGUST, 9am-3.30pm at FORUM NORTH in Rust Ave. It is aimed at providing information, advice, equipment and services specifically for elderly and disabled people and their families/caregivers.
We are looking for up to 5 volunteers to help on the day with the following tasks:
- Welcoming visitors & using a ‘clicker’ to count numbers of people coming in
- Helping visitors locate specific stalls
- Letting people know where and when entertainment and presentations are on.
- Helping distribute lunches to stallholders
- Communicating messages between organisers and stallholders/performers
All the above tasks will be between 8.45am and 3.30pm
Helping set up and/or pack down (this is mainly putting up & removing signage, labelling tables, direction marking etc.
This may be either the evening before the event, or between 8am and 8.45am, and 3.30pm-4.30pm.
The GOT Expo is a well-known, busy event, with 50+ stalls, entertainment, presentations and a vibrant community atmosphere.
It is coordinated by Tiaho Trust with main sponsors TLC4U2, ASB Bank and WDC
Requirements
Friendly helpful attitude. Able to follow simple instructions.
Time commitment
This may be either the evening before the event, or between 8am and 8.45am, and 3.30pm-4.30pm.
