Board member

Jigsaw North is a team of professional and passionate social service organisation providing counselling, social work support and parenting programmes for tamariki and whānau in the greater Whangārei area. The board role is voluntary, however, we do provide the tools to do the mahi, some nice kai and a very friendly and welcoming environment.
Induction will be provided - to the board, governance, our organisation and the social services context, with access to specific governance training as needed.

Requirements

If you have aroha and commitment for the well-being of tamariki and whānau, and understanding and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, the ability to work in a team environment, an awareness of community issues and diversity, the ability to think strategically, with good communication skills and a desire to be a board member we’d love to hear from you.
Knowledge of tikanga Māori and networks in the local Māori community would be an advantage. Please be in touch so we can meet up for a chat.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

Monthly meetings, pre board meeting reading, some events and training attendance. Be a Champion for the organisation. Three to four hours a month.
