Our Kerikeri Funding Extraordinaire

Volunteer remotely. We are a group of passionate locals who are united by a goal of unlocking the potential that already exists in Kerikeri. Like many towns and cities all over New Zealand (and the world), we believe in the power of communities to create positive change at a grass roots level.

At the moment, we are concentrating on the wall-art competition and our Very Kerikeri Christmas, and there are many other projects that we are looking at supporting: the Domain, beautifying Kerikeri, putting up sculptures and celebrating Christmas in the Park.

Our projects are largely dependent on funding and requires an extraordinaire to:

  • seek out funding opportunities and be on a constant lookout for new funding and revenue avenues
  • manage and be all over the funding calendar to ensure we meet deadlines for applications and accountability milestones
  • have the ability to understand a project concept, visualise the outcome, understand how it links to our community’s goals and vision, and prepare funding applications that showcase our projects and convince funders of a successful outcome for us. The volunteer role does not necessarily include obtaining quotes/preparing budgets/costings etc if this is not your strength or you cannot commit to the hours required for this. We have others on the team that can partner up for this who specialise in this area.

There is no requirement to attend board meetings. You will be working with Project Leaders, assisted by the Trust’s Chairperson and any other Trustees assigned to support the project.

Requirements

  • good writing and communication skills
  • ability to tell the story, sell the story and prepare compelling funding applications
  • organized
This volunteer position is suited for a person who has well developed communication skills (both written and oral) with the ability to tell the story, sell the story and prepare compelling funding applications.
