Bream Bay Learner Driver Volunteer Mentor Project
The Bream Bay Community Trust in partnership with The Northland Road Safety Trust would like to hear from you if you are a mature experienced driver, with a clean licence and a willingness to help learner drivers, by giving them a couple of hours of your time on a regular but flexible basis to supervise their driving practice. The project aims to pair learner drivers with a volunteer mentor driver to coach their driving practice that will help them build experience and confidence before sitting the restricted test. The driver license regime is aimed at ensuring that that Learner Drivers are capable and confident before they “Go Solo” on the road, to ensure the safety of all of the community. Many do not have access to the help of sufficiently experienced drivers (a minimum of two years full licence is required) to supervise their driving and so this programme aims to provide that opportunity. A vehicle is provided. You will also be given all the training and guidance you need to help our learner drivers.
