Volunteer Track Builders and Maintainers

Mangawhai Tracks Charitable Trust is a registered charity seeking volunteers to help build and maintain walking and cycling tracks throughout Mangawhai and the surrounding area.
Our work takes us from the Mangawhai township to the beautiful bush at the foothills of the Brynderwyn Ranges. Activities include track construction, vegetation clearing, basic drainage work and maintenance of existing tracks.
No experience is necessary and any training required will be provided. We have tasks to suit a wide range of strengths and abilities, so all ages and fitness levels are welcome. While many of our volunteers are retirees, anyone with an interest in the outdoors and contributing to the community is encouraged to join us.
We work each Friday from 8:30 am to noon, followed by refreshments and a chat. Attendance is completely flexible – come whenever it suits you.
Our volunteers have already helped create and maintain more than 10 km of spectacular bush, stream and waterfall walks in the Tanekaha Tracks off King Road, tracks through the Mangawhai Recreation Reserve behind the Mangawhai Activity Zone, and many other walkways throughout Mangawhai and Mangawhai Heads.
Volunteering with the Trust is a great way to enjoy the outdoors, keep active, meet like-minded people and make a lasting contribution to the local community.
