Night patrollers

CPNZ is a New Zealand wide community/police initiative. You will be the eyes and ears for the police on random days and evenings, by observing and reporting. Patrolling Whangarei streets in a vehicle, in pairs, in contact with the police station when necessary. We are not policemen.

Rostered on monthly Training developed by CPNZ is provided and covers:

  • Keeping yourself safe on patrol
  • Observing
  • Use of radio
  • Sample cases, etc, to ensure you will become a confident and experienced patroller

Requirements

  • Clean/ full driving license required
  • All genders
  • Ability to deal with the public in a relaxed and friendly manner
  • 18 years or older

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

The main patrol is 4 hours a night Friday and Saturday, between 10pm and 2am.
