Leading horses/assisting in arena/side walkers

We provide opportunities for anyone with a disability to enjoy safe, healthy, stimulating, therapeutic horse riding and horse-related activities. We need people who are confident around both horses and disabled people.

The job will be leading horses, side walking with our riders in the arena during sessions. Also setting up the arena in the morning and cleaning up after the sessions in the afternoon RDA does these jobs a certain way and so all volunteers would be trained to do these jobs.

If volunteers are interested they can do courses run by NZRDA and also gain NZQU qualifications.

Requirements

Some knowledge of horses and and empathy for disabled people.
Anyone who works here needs to be caring, motivated and able to take instruction.

A Police background check is required for this role.
