After School Programme Assistants
I Have a Dream in Tikipunga works with students (Dreamers) attending low-decile schools in Whāngarei. We support Dreamers from Year 1 until two years after high school and provide long term and wraparound support to our Dreamers. Our programme is open to all students who attend our partner schools. Some of the services we provide include in-class assistance, after-school programmes, mentoring, and advocacy. Currently about 960 young people are enrolled with I Have a Dream in the Tikipunga and Otangarei communities.
We are looking for caring people who can assist in our afterschool programmes after school for 2 hours per week. The main skills this role requires include being able to get alongside and support children and young people, help prepare for projects and activities, help prepare craft projects and/or food, and having fun with children.
Induction and Training is provided plus regular opportunities for personal and professional development provided.

- Positive attitude, patience, interest in seeing children succeed
A Police background check is required for this role.
Time commitment
2 hours per week.
