Guards (Kawakawa)
The Bay of Islands Vintage Railway Trust is a heritage railway in Kawakawa. It is unique as it is the only working railway in New Zealand where the trains travel down a State Highway and right through the middle of a busy town. We schedule 4 trains to run every Friday, Saturday and Sunday and every day in school holidays.
Guards are needed to ensure safety and enjoyment of passengers whilst travelling on our trains. They need to be pleasantly authoritative and fit enough to couple up carriages and change points if necessary. They must follow safety rules, complete necessary Railway documentation, and may be required to sell and issue tickets. Full training will be given by current staff. Occasional transport/carpooling available from Whangarei.
