Plant Nursery Assistants & Garden Care of Sanctuary
The Sanctuary Project keeps getting bigger by the day and many hands make light work. It is not "just" a conservation project, it is a location for outdoor Environmental Education work as well. We have been hosting pre- school, Primary School. PolyTech students, Sea Scouts, Girl Guides & Gardening groups in the past.
There are many different roles available for volunteers at the Sanctuary:
- Help propagate native plants to supply the sanctuary and other community environmental enhancement projects.
- Maintain and protect existing plantings by weeding, tree releasing and pest plant control.
- Mowing (ride-on lawn mower available), Line Trimming etc.
- Assist with fitting out a container being converted into an information / education centre & lunch room for volunteers.
