DOC Volunteer Wednesday

Join a DOC ranger for a day and help to preserve our beautiful natural environment and carry out conservation work.
The work varies each month. Past examples include site maintenance at Ruapekapeka Pa, weeding at Ocean Beach, planting at Paradise Shores and fencing at the Whangarei Kiwi Sanctuary, where volunteers were lucky enough to meet a kiwi that needed a transmitter change.

There is an educational component each month which may include a talk from a knowledgeable ranger, meet a kiwi or learn about an historic site.
