Kia ora, welcome to Volunteering Northland
Volunteering, social action, Mahi aroha, doing work for love, is happening all year round, all over Aotearoa New Zealand. Te Wiki Tūao ā-Motu National Volunteer Week (16 – 22 June) honours the collective energies and mana of volunteers in Aotearoa. This year’s theme is Whiria te tangata – Weave the people together.
Nominate your kaimahi aroha, your volunteers, for our Volunteer/ Kaimahi Aroha Award to recognise the time, skills and energy they contribute to your organisation and the kaupapa! We know that they are the life-blood of our organisations and that we couldn’t do without them! Let’s take the time to reflect on all those who volunteer in our whānau, our neighbourhood, our community.

Why nominate?
To celebrate amazing volunteers that enrich our community. Nominating someone is a special way to acknowledge and thank a volunteer who has made a difference to your organisation.
Who can you nominate?
An individual volunteer or a team of volunteers in Te Tai Tokerau in 5 categories; General, Youth (25 or under), Long Service (2 or more years), Team (At least 2), Innovation (someone who made a huge positive change to your organisation)
Who can make a nomination?
Any community organisation in Te Tai Tokerau can nominate an individual volunteer or a team of volunteers. It is not necessary to be a Volunteering Northland organisation to be a nominator or a nominee.
How do you nominate?
The nomination forms are online. If online access is difficult for some reason, we can mail out a paper version.
