Kia ora, welcome to Volunteering Northland

Our aim is to reduce the number of abandoned and feral cats in the Whangarei District. Our ultimate goal is to have no stray cats roaming the streets of Whangarei, and all cats in the district are desexed, microchipped and registered.
We provide community support by taking in unwanted cats and kittens surrendered to our organisation by members of the public. This usually includes endless litters of unwanted kittens each season or abandoned cats left behind by their previous owners. We provide medical treatment, desex and microchip them before finding loving forever homes.
During their stay with Whangarei Cat Rescue, kittens are fostered by our volunteers in private homes.
