Kia ora, welcome to Volunteering Northland

Tutukaka Land Care (TLC) was established in 2003 with the aim of protecting and enhancing the residual population of North Island Brown Kiwi found in the coastal forest stretching from Ngunguru to Sandy Bay. Our focus today has extended to releasing, protecting and monitoring Pateke (Brown Teal) and other key bird species.
Volunteers are required to help us expand our teams to include plant pest control (to help protect and support our natural habitats) and are to start outcome monitoring, so we can quantitatively report on numbers and changes in abundance and distribution of key bird species.
