Whakaora Kai – Food Rescue Northland - Food Rescue Support

We are starting a new Food Rescue Volunteer Programme.
Induction will be on the 18th October 2022 and volunteers will work in a team to help on a Tuesday morning between 9am and 12.30 to support the smooth running and increase the capacity of Food Rescue Northland.  


KEY TASKS
 Support the efficient functioning of Food Rescue Northland and work as part of the volunteer team to complete delegated tasks which may include, but is not limited to:
1.      Assisting Food Rescue staff with deliveries and pick-ups.
2.      Sorting and re-packaging collected food
3.      Keeping area clean
4.      Assisting with administrative tasks
 

Health and Safety - Please Note
This position can be physically demanding, requiring lifting, kneeling, and bending, with loads of up to 20kg.  If you are not able to do this safely please let us know. 
 


Training
An induction and training day (covering Food Safety and Manual Handling) will be held on October 18, 9am until 12pm - morning tea provided.

 
Specific requirements
Needs to be able to:
1. Work as part of a team
2. Be physically capable of lifting loads of up to 20kg.
