Board members at Northland Craft Trust
The Northland Craft Trust (NCT), which oversees the Quarry Arts Centre in Whangarei, is looking for new board members.
NCT was established as a charitable trust in 1982, to provide ‘a community-focused working arts and crafts centre for the pursuit and development of creative practice’. The Quarry holds workshops and arts classes, has working spaces/studios for artists, runs a gallery showcasing local artists’ work, has facilities for potters to fire their wares and runs an on-line and on-site retail outlet focusing on ceramic glazes and clays as well as fine arts materials.
The NCT Board oversees the Art Centre’s direction by setting strategic goals, overseeing financials, appointing and supervising the manager, and ensuring the Trust’s aims are met.
The Board meets monthly while subcommittees meet as required. Board members also support Quarry events and activities.
Induction by the other board members and manager.
We seek people preferably with governance expertise but, more importantly, those enthusiastic and interested in helping promote and guide the creative community that is based at the Quarry.
