SeniorNet Treasurer

SeniorNet's mission is to provide older adults education for and access to computer technologies to enhance their lives and enable them to share their knowledge and wisdom.

SeniorNet is looking for a treasurer to join their committee. The role requires a few hours of volunteer work every month and includes:
  • Present a monthly finance report to the committee and quarterly comparison with budget produced from MYOB
  • Deposit at Westpac any cash accumulated from the raffle, tutoring, etc.
  • Allocate within MYOB all transactions that the bank feed shows, approx. 10 per month.
  • Print and file invoices
Once a year the treasurer is asked to:
  • Produce the annual financial report from MYOB for presentation to the reviewer, then to the AGM.
  • Produce the annual budget from MYOB (mostly an automatic process using previous year’s figures).
  • By December 31 complete the Charities Commission report.

 
Training
Training will be provided by the current treasurer, and, if needed, a demonstration of how MYOB works. The current treasurer will work alongside the new treasurer for
as long as required.

Specific requirements
  • Basic computer skills.
  • knowledge of an accounting software (like MYOB) beneficial
  • detail-oriented and reliable
