Picking up & Sorting Donations for Women's Refuge Kaikohe
Mid North Women's Refuge in Kaikohe provides for women and children who are either at risk of, or experiencing family violence. We offer support and advocacy, counselling, education programmes, a 24 hour crisis line and also crisis accommodation.
We are looking for volunteers to help with picking up and/ or sorting the donations we get for our clients.Pick up donations: We get offered donations from all over the Hokianga and Kerikeri and surrounds and need volunteers happy to pick them up in Kerikeri and transport them to Kaikohe every now and then. You need your own car, but we will reimburse you for the petrol.
Sorting donations in Kaikohe: Our donations need to be sorted regularly, so we can give them out to whanau in need easily.
In return, you will get to be part of an awesome team, get full training, and help support those impacted by family violence.
Training
Specific requirements- Hands-on person
- Have a commitment to supporting those impacted by family violence
- Be self-aware and non-judgemental
- All volunteers will need to successfully complete a police vetting including VCA 2014 checks
