Painting Helpers - interiors

The Quarry Arts Centre is a fun and creative space that works to keep the arts community connected and provide resources that support local artists. We are looking for volunteers to assist us in rejuvenating our workshop spaces.  Initially focussing on our Scallop Room space, other opportunities are also available through the year for the internal painting of other important workshop and gallery spaces.

Project #1 (Main gallery): Commence and complete on 19 or 20 August 2021
Project #2 (Scallop room): Commence anytime and complete by 31 August 2021

Description of opportunity
Basic preparation of walls in readiness for painting (e.g. cleaning, hole filling, staple removal)
Painting of internal walls (paint supplied by the Quarry) with two coats
Basic equipment supplied, however, if you have your own rollers, extension poles and tray that would be greatly appreciated

Training
Ideally you have some previous experience, however, we are keen to train enthusiastic volunteers
 
Specific requirements
  • This would be a part-time role of 4 - 6 hours per day as required to complete specific painting projects
  • Hours and days can be flexible to fit with the volunteers 
  • The role will be based in a warm indoor space
  • Some ladder work maybe required, but not essential if mobility is an issue
  • Able to use initiative and not be afraid to ask questions
  • Be a team player and enjoy working alongside others
