We are looking for social people who can work as part of a team. As a Bar Volunteer, you will be taking food and drink orders from customers at the bar. You must be comfortable taking cash and credit card payments. You will be working in a team with other volunteers and a Bar Manager.
The shifts are generally around 3-4 hours, mostly during evenings and weekends. Shifts are scheduled on an online platform, and you can take as many or little shifts as you like.
The Turner Centre is a performing arts, event, and conference venue in the heart of Kerikeri. Our 408-seat theatre attracts international, national, and local shows to the Bay of Islands. We also have multi-purpose spaces available for community groups and commercial companies to use. We call on a large group of volunteers to run our events (bar staff, ushers, hospitality etc).
Training will be provided by our Banquets Manager on site during events. A current First Aid Certificate is appreciated but not required. On occasion, we provide free training sessions run by Volunteering Northland. During your first few shifts you will be shadowing an experienced volunteer.
Experience is not required; however, we are looking for people that are passionate about customer service.
