Volunteer with Financial/ Accounting Skills
Weed Action Native Habitat Restoration has been operating since 2014 and until recently worked under the financial umbrella of Whangārei Heads Landcare Forum.
Weed Action has just taken the big step to form a Charitable Trust and become financially independent. We are now looking for volunteers to support us with our financial management and some administrative tasks. Our preference is that the person has experience with the Xero financial package and be in a position to help Weed Action set up and maintain this package. The role could take up to 5 hours per week and it would be great if the person lived in the Whangārei Heads area but not essential.
We are a small, friendly team of committed people keen to improve the natural habitat and ecosystems by removing environmental weeds and have Weed Action groups working on reserves and public conservation land and, support landowners remove invasive weeds from their properties. There is a team of 3 paid personnel who are passionate about what they are doing alongside volunteers connected to the group. This role provides the opportunity to be part of a group that is achieving great results for the environment.
Our Chairperson and Coordinator will provide all necessary training to get you up to speed with our system.
