Expressions of interest are being sought for nominations for the role of consumer representatives for the Northland Health Consumer Council.
You will be passionate about providing a strong and viable voice for the community and health consumers so they can engage in health planning, and evaluation, and to ensure services are organised around the needs and preferences of those who use them.
We are looking for applicants with diverse backgrounds who want to achieve positive outcomes for consumers in accessing the best possible services and care from the Northland health sector.
Monthly evening meetings are held at Northland DHB facilities (Whangarei Hospital) and video conferencing from the district hospitals is available (Dargaville Hospital, Bay of Islands Hospital and Kaitaia Hospital).
The appointment is for a two year term.
- Secretarial support will be provided to the group
- Northland DHB staff will be available to provide advice and support.

- Sign a confidentiality commitment
Consumer representatives should exhibit characteristics of maturity, reliability, the ability to earn trust and maintain confidentiality, good listening skills, effective verbal communication and empathy.
