Neighbourhood Champion for Pest Plants
Volunteer remotely.
Weed Action Piroa Brynderwyns is on the lookout for locals with an interest to form a like-minded group to tackle weedy areas in our local area. Weeds such as woolly nightshade, ginger, jasmine, banana passionfruit can spread quickly and smother native plants -reducing important food sources for native birds. Would you like to be a local volunteer to champion pest plant removal on your street/road/area?
The vision of
Kiwi Coast is one of thriving kiwi, safely roaming throughout Northland, nurtured and cared for by Northlanders. We are creating New Zealand’s first modern day kiwi corridor. Last year we removed nearly 1/2 a million pest animals and plants -so help us to make a difference.
The
Kiwi Coast is a collaborative initiative that links over 160 community-led conservation projects, iwi and hapu, schools, forestry companies, government agencies and organisations in the shared vision of restoring the health of our native forests, helping native wildlife thrive and increasing Northland kiwi numbers.
