Reference nr. 2639 : Whare Bike
Bike Fixer-upper

WhareBike hosts monthly bicycle repair clinics on the first Sunday of each month from 1pm to 4pm.

We have pre-loved bicycles dropped off which we either strip for parts or repair to be loved again.  The philosophy is to reduce waste going to landfill - and to provide people with fun, cheap, healthful transport!

If you are handy with fixing bikes - or love working with a diverse group of people who love pedaling - then please get in touch or simply come along!

Training
  • On-the-job learn-as-you-go!
  • Usually there are people to ask the trickier questions.....but not always!!!

Specific requirements
It is an intentionally non-structured environment.  Volunteers will need to be flexible and to take initiative.  It is really cool if we can help people learn to fix their bikes themselves - so they leave with more than just a functional bike - they have the knowledge and power to fix it themselves and to teach others to fix theirs!!
