Are you a people person who loves helping customers find just what they’re after? Do you have retail or sales experience? Or want to gain some experience? Do you want to use those skills to help talented people around the world improve their lives? Come join us at Trade Aid!
We’re currently looking for one or two volunteers to join our team selling artisan crafted fair trade products from around the world, to benefit the lives of our partners. Get stuck in with all aspects of retail - assisting customers, using our till system to sell products, unpacking new products, pricing products, stock takes, cleaning to keep the shop tidy and beautiful, and inspiring our customers about the power of fair trade!
Volunteering involves a three hour shift once a week (with the opportunity for more, or longer, shifts if it suits): At the moment we are looking for potential volunteers who are able to volunteer for any of the following shifts:
Monday afternoon shift (1pm - 4pm) every week
Thursday morning shift (10am - 1pm) every week
Friday morning shift (10am - 1pm) every week
Ideally we are after people who can volunteer right through to Christmas as this is our busy time of the year. There is also the potential to work slightly longer shifts (an extra hour) in December or take on extra shifts if this works for you.
We provide in-depth training on our products, till, retail policies, fair trade and Trade Aid as a unique organisation. There is an opportunity to gain NZQA qualifications in retail for interested volunteers. Specific requirements
We are looking for volunteers who are either a real people person or already have some retail, sales or customer service experience. If you’re keen to learn more about what the role entails, please be in touch!
