Waipoua Forest Trust - Volunteer Trustee / Grant Applications

The Waipoua Forest is the largest Kauri forest in the world and a national and international treasure. We are a not for profit charitable trust dedicated to
  • Regenerating previously cleared land that borders the Waipoua Forest.
  • Undertaking pest animal & weed control to protect the Waipoua forest & regenerating forest.
  • Creating local employment opportunities & engaging volunteers to better understand native regeneration & land management issues.
  • Stopping the spread of Kauri Die Back.
     
We are seeking an enthusiastic Trustee to join our group of passionate board members and play an integral role in assisting with grant applications and helping us reach our ambitions.

Duration of appointment: 2 years

Time commitment: Trust meetings are every three months and are held in Kaitui/Waipoua, Northland.
 

Specific requirements
  • Experience in fundraising and obtaining grants for not-for-profit organisations;
  • Governance experience
  • Understanding of mana whenua and the local area
  • Passionate and want to be involved in making a genuine difference to the Waipoua area
