Treasurer for the Bay of Islands Community Centre
Bay of Islands Community Centre was set up to run community activities and services. These include a seniors coffee morning, a bubs group, a grief and loss group, fitness for the not so young and for mums, toastmasters, Alcoholic Anonymous, Te Reo, Flax weaving, a group for carers of people with dementia and other social activities.
We are looking for a treasurer for our association and this role shall:
- keep such books of account as shall be necessary to provide a true record of the Association's financial position;
- hold the accounts, the cheque books and the other financial records;
-present at the monthly committee meetings and at the Annual General Meeting a statement of Accounts and Balance sheet.
- The role does require attendance at the Community Centre Committee meeting in Paihia for two hours on a monthly basis, but the accounts can be completed at home.
Training
An induction about the community centre will be given
and a handover with the current treasurer
Training in Xero if required
Specific requirements
Financial and/or business skills would be desirable
Proven treasurer skills would be preferred
Knowledge of Xero accounting package would be desirable.
Numeracy skills are essential.
