Pest management on Parihaka

(Also fits Teams) We are a community group helping to protect native species in Parihaka by reducing pest populations. We control rats and possums. We need extra hands to help with possum trapping and loading rat bait stations. All work is within Mackesy Bush and Ross Park, which are part of the Parihaka Reserves.

At the moment we run a half day (or 2 hours) approx once a month.
Meet at top carpark Parihaka.

“Please come and help with the August bait station fill and trap clearing on Parihaka. No experience needed - we'll show you how to do everything and you will be teamed up with someone who has been before.

Wear suitable shoes for bush walking, bring a raincoat and some water. We will only be 2-3 hours at the most. Meet at the large carpark at the top of the mountain at 10am.

"Hope to see you there.”

Specific requirements
The work will involve following off-track bait lines, so a moderate level of fitness is required. You will need sturdy shoes or boots suitable for walking in the bush.
