Can you spare a few hours once a month on Saturdays (Meet & Greet)
Whangarei Quarry Gardens is a community garden project created by volunteers in the forested western hills of Whangarei City.
We have a vacancy for someone to join us on one of our busiest days - Saturdays. We run a monthly roster so the time commitment is not too huge. Being available just once a month is fine.
Welcoming visitors: Greeting, accepting the gold coin koha, directing visitors, and explaining the history of the gardens to those that are interested. Answering the occasional phone call. It is an interesting environment to work in as many of our customers are overseas and domestic tourists.
If you wish, you could progress to taking guided tours of the gardens.
Hours of the Gardens are 9.00am to 5.00pm everyday. Shifts are available most days approx. 9.30am to 12.30pm and 12.30pm to 4.30pm or all day if you wish.
Flexible arrangements to suit your time commitments.
No experience necessary. Full training will be given.
You need to like working with people. This position is also suitable for those with limited mobility.
