Tasks include reconciling the sales book and doing the banking, keeping an eye on bills and that they get paid, making sure the people who supply us with goods on Sale or Return are paid the right amount each month and making sure any grant expenditure is appropriately recorded against the relevant budget. Also preparing a financial report each month for the Trustees meeting and tracking income and spending against the budget. We have online banking and whilst the bookkeeper isn't a signatory they can view what is there.
It currently takes up to 10 hours a week to do all the tasks.
We're applying for funding for this to be a paid position long term.
You would be based at the EcoCentre, 8 South Road, Kaitaia (the old lighthouse building opposite the Te Ahu Centre. The EcoCentre is open from 10am - 4pm, Monday to Friday so ideally bookkeeping work would be carried out between these hours. Hours are flexible however.
Training will be provided on the job by the person currently carrying out this role. Specific requirements
Attention to detail. Good with figures. Great computer skills, especially excel and account package such as Cash Manager.
