This role is an integral position in the voluntary structure of GirlGuiding in NZ and an exciting opportunity for you to lead a group of passionate volunteers! As a Local Co-ordinator you will work with a team of Leaders to help them deliver an engaging, relevant and fun programme. Build strong, collaborative relationships with your team and the wider Guiding community. Provide direction and support to your team. Maintain a girl-led focus to ensure girls have a voice.
The aim of the role is to support and help co-ordinate the group leaders of girls in the Northland area. Offer advice, help and work on ideas to grow with the other volunteers. You will be supported in your role with free ongoing training and support to extend your leadership, communication and co-ordination skills. Meet new people and become part of a worldwide network. Make a real difference in your community and have loads of fun as exciting opportunities come your way!
Time is very flexible, and will vary depending on other members of your team and your own availability. Can be done any time that works for you, working with volunteers and staff team to address any concerns or issues in your team where needed. Work can be done from home and is mostly via email/phone and our online system. There will be some external meetings. Minimum training required within first 6 months with further optional training available after this.
Are you a people person, with great communication skills and an interest to volunteer in a youth focused organisation? No previous knowledge of Guiding is needed, although experience in leading a team would be beneficial.
As you will be working within a youth organisation a Police Check will be required.
